What's so special about Parent Helping? Parent helping is one of the things that makes the experience of Red Barn Nursery School special. Instead of asking "What did you do today at school?" you can say "Tell me about...." because you will know the daily routine, the other children's names, and many of the activities that take place during the school day. Parent helping gives you an opportunity to observe your child with other children, it provides you with many chances to see your child's teachers in action and, often times, it gives you great ideas to use at home. You get to know the other families and the staff and we get to know you. Most importantly, you participate in your child's growth and development in these wonderful, formative years. Oh, and it's lots of fun! |
Testimonials from Red Barn Families |
"Red Barn is a great preschool - it is small and caring and provides a safe and fun place where children grow and learn." |
" My two children have been prepared so well for kindergarten by Red Barn's strong curriculum and social skill building. They have learned how to get along with others, listen attentively and follow directions, all the while developing a love of learning" |
"Being involved at Red Barn has truly helped me become a better parent. Parent helping has been like a parent-help course for me, making me tune in to my children and set firm limits in a positive, "can-do" sort of way." |
"I've always been amazed at how all the teachers know all the students, even ones they haven't had in their class. That's a high level of commitment and professionalism - and love. It is truly one big family. I know that's how my son experienced it - and me too!" |
"As a mother who works outside the home I feel I was more connected to the school and the other families because of parent helping." |
" You know your child loves Red Barn when she wakes up extra early on the day you are scheduled to be parent helper, gets herself dressed and stands next to your bed holding your bathrobe, and then says, "Time to wake up! It's a special day. I don't want to miss any of it!" |
"Red Barn is like a safe haven where time slows down and the children can live in a "yes" environment, discovering and learning by doing. There is a true emphasis on sharing and respecting one another, an often forgotten value in our fast paced world." |
